In Arundel, West Sussex, an unexploded three-inch World War II mortar was found on the banks of the River Arun near Queen Street. Emergency services—delayed until Saturday morning by tide conditions—established a cordon around key access routes, and Sussex Police along with the Royal Navy's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team safely removed the device, after which normal access was restored.
