A team of specialist naval divers safely destroyed a World War II-era bomb found over the weekend in the River Ure, between Bishop Monkton and the Newby Hall estate in North Yorkshire. Although the device posed no immediate threat, the Royal Navy was called in for an inspection and ultimately disposed of the ordnance on Wednesday.
