Fire crews battling a major blaze on Langdale Moor in North Yorkshire have encountered over 18 explosions caused by hidden World War II ordnance, remnants from a former tank training ground. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the presence of inert practice projectiles, with bomb disposal teams responding multiple times to retrieve and safely dispose of them. These buried explosives have forced firefighters to adopt defensive strategies, complicating efforts to contain the wildfire.
