A suspected World War II bomb discovered at a construction site in Newtownards, County Down, prompted the evacuation of more than 400 homes and the establishment of a police cordon. Army bomb disposal teams are working to neutralize the device, using sand piles in preparation for a controlled explosion. Authorities anticipate the operation will last several days, though only residents directly contacted by police are likely to be affected.
