Suspected WWII Bomb detonated in Staxton

A suspected World War II bomb was discovered in an outbuilding in Staxton, North Yorkshire, prompting police and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team to respond. The device was safely removed and detonated in a controlled explosion at a separate location later that day. Authorities lifted the precautionary cordon and thanked residents for their patience during the operation.
