Bomb found while magnet fishing in Norwich

A World War Two mortar shell was discovered by a magnet fisher in the River Wensum near Dolphin Bridge. Police set up a cordon in Anderson’s Meadow along Marriott’s Way while a Ministry of Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended. The shell was safely destroyed in a controlled explosion just before 2pm.
