8 WWII bombs found on Cumbria beach

A member of the public discovered seven artillery shells and one mortar on the beach at Drigg, Cumbria. The Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team investigated the site on Thursday, and returned Friday with Millom Coastguard and Royal Navy bomb disposal experts. The items were safely detonated in three controlled explosions.
