A 500kg German World War II bomb discovered in a Plymouth garden led to the evacuation of over 10,000 residents and significant disruption for four days. Authorities established a 300m cordon before transporting the bomb through the city and detonating it at sea on Friday night. Officials described the evacuation as one of the largest since World War II, with residents expressing relief after returning home.
